Shared Leadership program applications open: Apply soon, limited availability

Boise State Opens Applications for Shared Leadership Program, Deadline Set for June 8

Boise State University employees looking to grow their professional influence on campus have a new opportunity to consider. The university’s Shared Leadership program is now accepting applications for its 2026-2028 cohort, with a submission deadline of June 8, 2026. The two-year program is set to launch in fall 2026, and spots are limited.

Designed for faculty and staff who want to become more active contributors to campus life, the program blends hands-on leadership development with a broader understanding of how Boise State operates as an institution. Participants gain both practical skills and the kind of institutional knowledge that supports meaningful work across departments.

What the Program Offers

Each session pairs leadership tools with a corresponding campus activity or guest speaker, giving participants real-world context alongside professional development. The program also creates space for employees to take on leadership roles in both real and simulated scenarios, building confidence and competence in a structured environment.

A key feature of the program is its emphasis on community. Participants are expected to build lasting professional relationships, share leadership experiences, and support one another through a collaborative network. Mentorship from leaders inside and outside the university rounds out the experience, helping participants explore a range of leadership approaches.

The program has a strong track record: many alumni report meaningful career advancement and new opportunities at Boise State following their participation.

Who Can Apply

To be eligible, applicants must hold a benefits-eligible position at Boise State and work at least 20 hours per week. They must also plan to remain employed at the university for the full two-year duration of the program and demonstrate a genuine commitment to the Boise State community.

Participants are expected to be fully engaged during the 2026-2027 program year and then take an active role in helping plan and deliver the following year’s cohort experience. Supervisor approval is required before submitting an application.

How to Get Involved

Interested Boise State employees should visit the university’s Shared Leadership website for full program details and application instructions. The June 8 deadline is firm, and given the program’s limited availability, early applications are encouraged.

The Shared Leadership program is one of several professional development efforts at Boise State aimed at strengthening campus culture and preparing employees for greater responsibility.
