Boise Woman Arrested After Early Morning Shooting Near Belmont Street

Boise Police arrested a 21-year-old woman early Sunday morning following a shooting that left a man with life-threatening injuries in a residential area near West Belmont Street and South Longmont Avenue.

Sophie Rains of Boise was taken into custody and charged with aggravated battery after the incident, which occurred shortly before 1 a.m. on May 17, 2026.
