Boise Hawks Kick Off Six-Game Highway Series Homestand Against Idaho Falls Chukars on June 9

Interstate highway

The Boise Hawks open a six-game homestand at Memorial Stadium this week, welcoming in-state rival the Idaho Falls Chukars for the first installment of the 2026 Highway Series. Games run Tuesday, June 9 through Sunday, June 14, giving Treasure Valley baseball fans nearly a full week of action at the historic Boise ballpark.

About the Highway Series

The Highway Series pits the Hawks against the Chukars across 24 regular-season matchups throughout the year. Bragging rights — and a physical prize — are on the line: the Traffic Cone Trophy goes to whichever team finishes the season with the most wins in the series. The series is presented by the Office of Highway Safety, a fitting sponsor for a competition named after the stretch of Idaho highway that connects the two rival cities.

Promotions and Fan Events Throughout the Week

The Hawks have loaded the six-game homestand with daily promotions designed to bring fans of all ages out to Memorial Stadium.

Tuesday, June 9 kicks things off with Five Dollar Tuesday, offering fans a general admission seat and a hot dog together for just $5. A crew sock giveaway is also planned for the first 1,000 fans through the gates. Post-game fireworks are scheduled to cap the night.

Wednesday, June 11 is Hometown Heroes Night, recognizing community workers with discounted $6 tickets for anyone who presents a work ID. Eligible workers include firefighters, law enforcement officers, military personnel, teachers, librarians, public healthcare workers, and other public service employees — a nod to the men and women who keep Ada County and the broader Treasure Valley running.

Thursday, June 12 brings Thirsty Thursday to Memorial Stadium, featuring half-priced sodas, waters, draft beers, and seltzers throughout the game. Fans can also participate in Baseball Bingo, which runs throughout the homestand series.

The homestand also includes Bark in the Park, allowing fans to bring their dogs to the game — a popular promotion that regularly draws some of the most enthusiastic four-legged attendees in minor league baseball. Adding to the entertainment, Betty the Bat Dog will take the field during the third and fourth innings to retrieve bats, a crowd favorite for younger fans especially.

Out in The Garden, a cornhole tournament is scheduled with a $5 entry fee, giving fans an interactive way to enjoy the ballpark experience beyond the diamond itself.

Saturday, June 13 includes a pre-game baseball clinic from 6:20 to 6:40 p.m. for young players looking to pick up tips before first pitch.

A separate pregame promotion tied to a local Wendy’s restaurant is also planned. A meet-and-greet event featuring the Boise Baconators — a game-day promotional team — runs from noon to 1 p.m. at the Wendy’s located at Glenwood and Chinden ahead of that day’s game.

Impact on Ada County Residents

For Ada County families looking for affordable summer entertainment, the Hawks homestand offers multiple low-cost entry points throughout the week. The $5 Tuesday deal and $6 Hometown Heroes tickets make attending a professional baseball game accessible for most household budgets — a welcome option during a summer when recreation costs continue to rise across the Treasure Valley.

Memorial Stadium sits within the Boise city limits, and event nights routinely affect traffic patterns on nearby roads. Fans heading to the ballpark midweek should plan accordingly. For those interested in road and traffic updates around Boise, the Ada County Highway District recently adopted new rules for traffic-control firms taking effect later this month that could affect how work zones near the stadium are managed during game weeks.

What Comes Next

The six-game series with the Idaho Falls Chukars runs through Sunday, June 14. Fans interested in tickets, full promotional schedules, or additional homestand details can contact the Boise Hawks directly through the team’s official website or the Memorial Stadium box office. The Highway Series continues throughout the 2026 regular season, with the Traffic Cone Trophy on the line when the final matchup concludes later this summer.
