Arrests Linked to Separate Incident
The two individuals now facing charges for the September 7 killing were already in the custody of the Ada County Jail. Isaiah Chavez, 18, and Miyah Ford, 18, were arrested last week following a separate violent incident on August 16, 2026. Detectives added new homicide-related charges to their existing cases after establishing a connection between the two events.
On August 16, officers responded to reports of shots fired at a house party in the 2200 block of South Gekeler Lane. Evidence collected at the scene indicated that gunfire erupted during a physical altercation, damaging the home’s ceiling and roof. Five suspects were arrested in connection with that fight, including one individual charged specifically for firing a weapon into the structure.
Outstanding Warrants Issued
While Chavez and Ford are in custody, investigators continue to search for two other suspects believed to be involved in the stabbing. The Boise Police Department has issued arrest warrants for Keigan Blagburn, 22, on charges of aggravated battery, and Tashaun Maldonado, 18, for aiding and abetting second-degree murder.
Detectives stated that evidence points to gang activity as a contributing factor in both the August 16 shooting incident and the September 7 homicide. The connection between the two cases suggests an ongoing pattern of violence involving multiple individuals.
