Boise Police are investigating gunfire near Main Street and 8th Street in downtown Boise after more than 20 shots were reportedly fired early Oct. 17, 2026. No injuries were reported. This article serves as a brief update on the Boise shooting investigation.

Officers responded at approximately 2:13 a.m. and detained several individuals. Several buildings were struck by gunfire.
Police said a verbal and physical altercation took place between two groups at Grove Plaza before the shots were fired. Investigators are examining possible gang affiliations connected to the incident.
Charges Pending in Downtown Boise Case
Charges are pending against one individual for aggravated assault and shooting into an occupied dwelling. The investigation remains ongoing.
