Idaho State Police Investigate I-84 Crash Involving 25 Motorcycles

Idaho State Police are investigating a serious multi-vehicle collision on Interstate 84 that resulted in 15 hospitalizations near Caldwell. The crash involved a large group of motorcyclists and several passenger vehicles, prompting a significant emergency response along the busy corridor.

Crash Details and Response

The incident occurred at approximately 12:19 p.m. on Saturday, October 3, 2026, near milepost 28 in westbound lanes. According to police reports, the collision involved 25 motorcycles participating in a Memorial Ride and seven other vehicles. Emergency crews, including Life Flight medics, transported 15 individuals to area hospitals for treatment. Authorities have not released specific details regarding the severity of injuries or the condition of those hospitalized.

Traffic Disruption on I-84

The crash caused substantial delays for commuters and travelers using the interstate. Westbound lanes were completely blocked for roughly four hours while investigators processed the scene and emergency personnel managed the aftermath. All westbound lanes have since reopened, restoring normal traffic flow through the area.

Idaho State Police continue to investigate the cause of the accident. No further updates on liability or specific charges have been released as the inquiry remains ongoing.
