IdahoSTARS has secured $14.6 million to enhance child care quality and access across Idaho. The initiative, operated through the University of Idaho’s Idaho Center on Disabilities and Human Development, allocates funds for provider training, licensing improvements, and a new statewide needs assessment.
Funding Supports Provider Training
The financial support targets professional development for early childhood educators. In Moscow, staff at Little Buckaroos Childcare and Preschool participated in a dedicated professional development day facilitated by IdahoSTARS quality consultant Layna Franklin. Franklin provided resources designed to assist child care professionals in improving their services.
Quality Improvement Program Expansion
Little Buckaroos Childcare and Preschool recently joined Quality Achievers, IdahoSTARS’ designated quality improvement program. The $14.6 million investment aims to broaden such opportunities statewide, ensuring more facilities can access the tools necessary for higher standards of care.
