Vehicle Overturns on Eastbound I-84 Near Blacks Creek; Tanker Leaves Roadway

A multi-vehicle crash near Blacks Creek on eastbound Interstate 84 forced the closure of multiple lanes Thursday, creating significant traffic delays in the area. The collision occurred at mile marker 66, south of Blacks Creek, and drew a large emergency response from state and local law enforcement.

One vehicle overturned at the scene, while a large tanker truck left the roadway and came to rest in nearby brush. Crews also responded to a small fire at the crash site, which appeared to be extinguished by the time emergency personnel arrived.

Idaho State Police and Ada County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to manage the scene and direct traffic. Motorists heading eastbound toward Mountain Home experienced significant slowdowns as crews worked to clear the wreckage and reopen lanes.

Emergency responders urged drivers to avoid the area and expect continued delays as the investigation and cleanup continued. The cause of the crash was not immediately disclosed.
