A busy Eagle intersection is closed to traffic starting today as the Ada County Highway District (ACHD) begins construction of a new roundabout at Linder Road and Floating Feather Road. The closure is expected to last through late 2026.
Drivers traveling north-south should use Palmer Lane or Park Lane as alternate routes. For east-west travel, ACHD recommends Beacon Light Road or State Highway 44.
What the Project Includes
The construction scope goes beyond the roundabout itself. Workers will widen Linder Road to two lanes in each direction with a center turn lane added for turns. The project also calls for two-stage pedestrian crossings and Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons at each approach to the intersection, improving safety for both drivers and pedestrians navigating the upgraded corridor.
Impact on Eagle Commuters
With the intersection slated to remain closed for several months, Eagle and Treasure Valley commuters should plan for longer travel times and familiarize themselves with posted detour routes. ACHD has made a detour map available for drivers affected by the closure.
Infrastructure upgrades like this one are part of a broader pattern of road improvements across Ada County as the region manages rapid population growth. What Comes Next
Motorists are encouraged to allow extra travel time and monitor ACHD communications for construction updates. The intersection is expected to reopen with the completed roundabout by the end of 2026.
